Hurray for House Martins

We had a good turn out for our Hurray for House Martins celebration on 7th July. Bug houses were made for gardens, pollinator plants were taken home and there was lots of interest in house martin, swift and swallow cups/boxes. Paul Stevens of House Martin Conservation UK & Ireland gave an inspirational talk on building a house martin colony. It’s good to know that taking action for wildlife works! and that we can ALL do something to help these birds and make sure they are not lost from our summer skies. Thanks to Wareham Community Growers for bringing and advising on pollinator plants and to Swanage and Purbeck Swift Group for advice on swift boxes.
