Nature and Wildlife Fair – 26th April 2025

Nature and Wildlife Fair 2025

Sustainable Wareham Nature and Wildlife Fair returns for the 3rd year running!

Do you need to recharge after the Easter holidays?  Come along to the Wareham Town Hall between 10am and noon on Saturday 26th April and be inspired by the wonderful nature and wildlife that surrounds us in Purbeck.

Amongst the exhibitors will be: the National Trust with exciting updates about the new beaver residents in Studland;  Birds of Poole Harbour with their live webcam showing the return of ospreys to their favourite nest on our doorstep;  Bats are new exhibitors at the fair.  Did you know we have a bat rescue and rehabilitation centre right here?  And let’s not forget all the work being done to make this landscape accessible to all.  Nature Buddies and  Shaftsbury Millie College at Holton Lee show us how. (full list below)

And for the first time Sustainable Wareham will have an activity table where the young (and even not so young) can build and paint bug hotels while you wander and relax and refresh with tea and coffee and home made cakes.

There will also be two raffles:

  • Talented local artist David Cole | warehamartclub.org.uk has kindly donated a splendid painting of the Wild Seas Centre in Kimmeridge to Sustainable Wareham. It will be on display on the Dorset Wildlife Trust table with Art Raffle tickets at £1 each for the lucky winner to take home a unique piece of art.  All proceeds will go towards our work supporting nature and wildlife in the Wareham area and enhancing access for all to the wonderful environment around us.
  • All the fair participants have donated prizes for the raffle – including family tickets to events; informative books and useful equipment to help you enjoy your exploration of nature.
