Hedges at Hayricks

Volunteers plant trees

Following an approach to Arne Parish Council, a number of Sustainable Wareham members joined councillors, residents and Trees for Dorset to plant a hedgerow and some trees at the Hayricks green space at the weekend. There were so many volunteers it was finished in no time. The hedge with a mix of native species including hawthorn, blackthorn, dogwood, dog rose, spindle and crab apple replaces a very large row of leylandii – a very definite improvement.  The reusable tree guards were supplied by Trees for Dorset.
